Division Standards
The standards outlined below should be considered a guide specifically to compete at the TYR WZA Miami. These are considered to be “working weights” and movements that can be performed for multiple reps.
We reserve the right to make changes to skills and loads within reason.
This division is labeled the Elite/Rx because those athletes that are attempting to qualify for Elite or Rx for Miami should register here.
Those athletes should expect to perform every Online Challenge workout as prescribed. The movement & load standard criteria are the following:
Barbell (Recommended minimum 1RM)
Snatch – 185, 125lb
Clean – 225, 155lb
Gymnastics & Skills (Multiple reps)
Toes-to-Bar, Chest-to-bar, Ring & Bar Muscle-ups, Legless Rope Climbs
Strict Handstand Push-ups, Wall-walks, Handstand Walk
Pistols
Double-unders, and Crossovers
This division is labeled the Intermediate/Open because those athletes that are attempting to qualify for Intermediate or register via Open Registration for Miami.
If an athlete seeks to qualify via Intermediate, they should plan to perform the workout as prescribed, however, if unable to, the athlete will have the ability to “modify” the workout and select that upon score submission. This will result in the athlete’s score being ranked below any athlete that performs it as prescribed.
The movement & load standard criteria are the following:
Barbell (Recommended minimum 1RM)
Snatch – 135, 95lb
Clean – 185, 125lb
Gymnastics & Skills (Multiple reps)
Toes-to-Bar, Chest-to-bar, Bar Muscle-ups, Rope Climbs
Kipping Handstand Push-ups, Wall-walks, Handstand Walk
Double-unders
Modified workout versions will have minimal loading and minimal skills.
Age Requirement
Athletes in this division must be 35 years of age but not older than 39 as of 1/1/2025.
Athletes seeking to qualify to compete in Miami in this division should expect to perform every Online Challenge workout as prescribed. The movement & load standard criteria are the following:

Athletes seeking to qualify to Miami in either the Elite, Rx & Intermediate divisions should expect to perform every Online Challenge workout as prescribed. Keep in mind, not all athletes will have to perform every skill or lift the heaviest prescribed barbell.

Athletes looking to earn a spot via open registration, in the “Open Division” (formerly Scaled) will have the option of selecting “Modified” which requires the following movement standard criteria:

Jumping Pull-ups
Hand Release Push-ups
Wall Walks
Teams will be made up of three (3) male or three (3) female athletes and, between them, their ages must sum a minimum of 125 years total. There are two divisions, Masters Rx Division and Masters Open Division.
Age Requirements
No individual younger than 35 years old by 1/1/2025 may be on a Masters team.
The sum total of the team’s age by 1/1/2025 must be a minimum of 125 years.
(i.e. 35 years + 47 years + 45 = 127 years old – eligible)
The age of all masters team athletes will be considered in years only, and will not take into consideration months until a subsequent change in age. An athlete’s age on January 1st, 2025 in years (not months or days) is the number of years an athlete should use to tabulate their age for Masters Teams. This means athletes will round down to the nearest whole year.
For example, if an athlete is 35 years, 7 months, and 4 days old on January 1st, 2025; then their official age is 35 years old to add their age with teammates.
Rx & Open Team Division
Athletes seeking to qualify for Miami in the Masters Rx division should expect to perform every Online Challenge workout as prescribed. The movement standard criteria are:
Barbell (Expected working weight)

Gymnastics & Skills (Multiple reps)
